Myra ‘Nadine’ Maack
Job Title and Responsibilities:
I am currently assigned to the US Army PEO, PM Aviation Systems Headquarters (AS HQ), PM Aviation Networks and Mission Planning (ANMP), Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS), Centralized Aviation Flight Records System (CAFRS), and FliteScene Software Programs. By using in-depth knowledge, skill, and expertise in contracting/acquisition, I provide support, assist in writing requirements and provide advice related to all aspects of the acquisition cycle. I provide direct support to the AMPS, CAFRS, and FliteScene team members, business, technical and logistics, to ensure that requirements are sound, comply with federal regulations and local policies, and are executable with minimal delays.
I have been with Thompson Gray for 1.5 years, after retiring from the US Government. I worked in contracting for 22 years; 16 of those was executing cradle to grave contracts with the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. I spent six months at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona. Yes, my six months were in the summer, but I loved it there. The remaining years were at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Previously, I worked in the legal and law enforcement fields. I worked with the Office of the Judge Advocate General in Heidelberg, Germany; Staff Judge Advocate at the Presidio of San Francisco; Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI), and a private attorney. I met my husband, Paul, while working at ABI. He walked into my office one day, and five months later we married. Being a military spouse is not always easy, but the experience is priceless. Thirty-two years later, we have one son, my two step-sons; and eight grandchildren. I love creating things, from growing plants, decorating cakes, arranging flowers, to quilting. At a young age, my Daddy ‘decided’ that I would learn piano, and Mother taught me to quilt. I have used these priceless gifts all my life.

Getting to Know You:
If you could chat with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you talk about?
I would talk to my Mother and introduce her to my family. She passed before I met my husband
What is the best vacation you have ever taken?
It wasn’t really a vacation, as we were moving to my husband’s next assignment. It was a wonderful trip though. We drove across the United States from Ft Lauderdale, Florida; through Huntsville, Alabama; across the southern states to the Pacific Ocean; and along the coast to San Francisco. I had never traveled west before. Driving allowed me to see, for the first time, how the scenery changes from east to west. It was amazing.
At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?
Huntsville Sew and Vac, who provides me with my stash of fabric and quilting supplies.
